You can now use a secret code to get into your locked WhatsApp talks.

WhatsApp is adding a new way to keep people from seeing your locked chats. Your locked chats folder used to be visible along with all of your other conversations. Now you can hide the chats behind a secret code of your choice.

Here's an example of a secret code that Meta gave us. It can have letters, numbers, special characters, and even emoji. To find your locked chats, all you have to do is type the password into the search bar on WhatsApp. If someone looks at your phone, this should keep them from finding out that you have a locked chat folder in the first place.

It also says that you can always choose to have your locked chats show up in your chat list instead. In May, Meta's messenger added locked chats, which let you keep conversations secret in a folder that can only be opened with a fingerprint, face scan, or password. WhatsApp has added a new feature called "secret code." You can now lock a conversation by long-pressing on it instead of going to the settings for the conversation.

Starting today, Meta is giving out secret codes. In the coming months, they'll be available all over the world.

With a "secret code," WhatsApp users can now keep their private talks safe

The chat lock tool that WhatsApp just released helps users keep their "most sensitive discussions" safe from prying eyes by putting them in a separate folder and protecting them with a password.
Also, alerts from locked chats can't show up when it's not handy, like after you gave your friend your phone to look at pictures.

Users won't be able to see locked chats until they enter their secret code into the search bar. This will reveal all the conversations you don't want other people to see.
People who looked over a user's shoulder used to be able to see that they had a closed chats folder. This was a surefire way to get someone's attention, or suspicion.

Mark Zuckerberg, CEO of Meta, the company that owns WhatsApp, said this about Chat Lock in May: "New locked chats in WhatsApp make your conversations more private." They are hidden in a folder that needs a password to get to, and notifications won't show the sender or the text of the message.
The company said in a statement about the new update, "We're so happy that our community has been loving Chat Lock, and we hope that the secret code makes it even more useful for them."

"We are starting to give out secret code today, and in a few months, everyone will be able to get it." Chat Lock will keep getting more features to help people keep their secrets safe. Let us know what you think.
On the main conversations menu, users will be able to choose to keep their closed talks instead of hiding them.

Many privacy features are being worked on by WhatsApp right now, such as "listen once" voice notes that are currently being tested in beta.
In other long-awaited news, WhatsApp now lets you use two separate accounts on the same phone and switch between them.

The device was first advertised as a way to combine "work you and fun you" into one. However, it was also advertised online as a "cheater's paradise" that could hide secret accounts without the need for a burner phone.
